Miedema expands product line with two completely new machines: the ME 60 PF and ME 80 PF. Miedema calls this new type of machine a ‘planter filler’, and it is the company’s latest innovation to help lighten the farmer’s task when it comes to planting potatoes. A six- or eight-metre-long conveyor belt (on the ME 60 PF and ME 80 PF respectively) that seamlessly joins the tipping trailer gives this planter a high filling capacity. Moreover, the conveyor belt is also perfectly suited for use as an extra conveyor or soil belt during store loading.
In actual practice the user must often spend an enormous amount of time adjusting and swivelling the conveyor belt. Miedema’s planter filling belts are designed to convey the seed potatoes from the tipping trailer to the planter quickly, effortlessly and without damage.
The Miedema filling belts can be driven hydraulically or electrically, allowing simple, stepless adjustment of the belt speed. With the enormous capacity of up to 160 tonnes/hour, the planter is filled extremely quickly. A pivoting conveyor frame enables the user to swing the filling belt via hydraulic control handles, making pulling and dragging the conveyor a thing of the past.
To minimise fall heights, Miedema planter filling belts are designed with a permanent bend at the discharge end. This feature, combined with mechanical or hydraulic height adjustment, protects the quality of the seed potatoes. A high, wide receiving hopper prevents spillage of the product. The continuously adjustable speed of the troughed conveyors ensures a deep product flow.
The height adjustment of the conveyor is also completely hydraulic which, in combination with the permanent bend at the discharge end, ensures minimal fall heights.
The Miedema ME Planter Fillers are extremely versatile. Large transport wheels make the conveyor belt superbly suited for use on softer ground. During store loading the planter conveyor belt also serves well as an extra conveyor or soil belt. Box filling is also among the possibilities, with the permanent bend once again ensuring minimal fall height. An optional cover also makes the conveyor suitable for special applications, as bad weather and dust have no effect on the quality of the product.
