Miedema hoppers are designed to transport your potatoes to the sorter and discharge belt without falling onto the belt. Even product distribution means the potatoes are cleaned thoroughly from the first cleaning roller onwards. Automatic capacity control (MH control) guarantees an optimal product flow, with the system switching off automatically if the bunker has insufficient potatoes. This prevents product damage caused by an empty hopper or because of tubers rolling about and bumping into each other.

If you prefer, you can use the MH control to operate the MH hoppers on the storage line fully automatically; there’s no need to worry about it. The correct adjustment of the various components can be a time-consuming and complex task. To help you as much as possible here, we have automated many settings to make the system a breeze to operate. With the new series of MH hoppers, you can easily adjust the rolling distance from the sorter. If the gradient of the belt is changed, the rolling distance automatically remains the same. This means that you can easily match the intensity of your cleaning process to the type of crop, harvesting conditions and/or soil type.
You can change your entire cleaning and sorting line to suit if you choose a hopper with a double sorting unit and lifting set. This unique system means that one person can switch in just a couple of minutes from a cleaning module to a combined cleaning and pre-sorting unit. This gives you the option of pre-sorting or not. Your hopper easily accommodates the required situation.
Hoppers from Miedema are differentiated by their clear control panels, with the layout of the buttons being categorised by process. Intelligent applications take tedious tasks off your hands. Automatic lubrication of the belt chain is a good example.

You have no problems with drop damage because products are placed gently on top of each other. A major advantage of Miedema hoppers is that they can be fitted with MH control that ensures a constant release of product onto the cleaning rollers. An electrically driven belt makes belt operation infinitely adjustable. You can operate it very slowly (0.1 metres a minute) or very fast (4.6 metres a minute). The capacity of the storage line is optimised to suit your sorting and cleaning lines.
The Smart Pin is a unique option for Miedema hoppers. This is a system that cleans the steel spiral rollers continuously during the storage process. The process does not have to be stopped to clean the rollers. The result? Higher capacity!
Durability and low energy costs are the driving forces behind the low user costs of Miedema storage machines. Wear-sensitive parts were avoided as much as possible in their design. With hoppers from Miedema, it is possible to control the cleaning rollers using a monodrive system. Unlike chain-driven systems, this system does not contain any wear-sensitive parts. In many cases, Miedema supplies steel spiral cleaning rollers that are much more durable than PU rollers, for example. The belt comes in sections so you do not have to replace the entire mat if damage occurs. To save on energy costs, storage machines from Miedema have electric drives which consume relatively little power.
